The production of Oglethorpe County Jail included features such as the construction of holding cells with rear mechanical chase, a Central Control Room accompanied with state-of-the-art technology, a Sheriff’s Office, the Oglethorpe County 911 Center, the Oglethorpe County Court Complex, and both kitchen and dining facilities. The detention center/jail facility utilizes conventional poured masonry construction. Complying with Oglethorpe County’s desire to match the building’s aesthetics with that of planned future projects, the detention pods were covered with a pre-engineered building frame, metal roof, and E.I.F.S. finished walls.
