ARCHITECT
The Sizemore Group

SIZE
22,000 sq. ft.

R.W. Allen, LLC (RWA) was the successful low-bid General Contractor for the Athens-Clarke County Bobby M. Snipes Water Resources Center. RWA worked closely with the Athens-Clarke County and the architect to secure all the points necessary to become a LEED certified building.
The project consisted of 20,000 square feet of new construction featuring combined water/wastewater/storm-water laboratories, a water treatment plant, administrative/staff offices, space for environmental compliance staff, and a multi-purpose training area.
Our goal for the Athens-Clarke County Water Resources Center was to achieve a LEED silver certification status, which was achieved. The facility serves as a GREEN building, incorporating sustainable design practices by using construction techniques that minimize waste, shield light pollution, and use high-efficiency heating/cooling systems.
